West Cumbria Mining Ltd must wait still longer for a decision on its plans for a coking coal mine under the Irish Sea, off the coast of Cumbria.
TIMELINE
The Government, which called in the application in 2021 after twice refusing to do so and prompting a public inquiry, has so far postponed its final decision three times.
Michael Gove, secretary of state of the department for levelling up, housing and communities, had been due to issue his decision this month.
WCM was advised at the start of November that planning ministers required further time to consider the case, with the decision now expected on or before 8 December 2022.
