VOG seeks alternative rig provider for Matanda

Victoria Oil & Gas plc (VOG) said it was seeking an alternative rig provider for well operations at the Matanda onshore gas block in the port city of Douala, Cameroon.

Preparations: VOG is working on the well site and civil works for an access road at Matanda (Victoria Oil & Gas)

CONTRACTS

The company, which is still suspended from trading on AIM due to financial uncertainty, produces and distributes gas through its wholly-owned subsidiary Gaz du Cameroon S.A.

In a statement VOG added it had been unable to conclude a contract on acceptable terms with the owner of the Chad-based rig for operations in Matanda and was pursuing an alternative from the tendering exercise.

The company is also still looking for a partner to share the cost and risk of the commitment well.

VOG continues to prepare the well site and civil works for an access road at the site.

The company said its primary focus was on community engagement along the access road while contractors wait for the rainy season to end.

LOGBABA

VOG also reported on operations at the adjacent Logbaba field.

Gas production continued in July and August at “strong levels of above 5.5 MMscf/d, including the usually slower month of August, which was 10% up on last year”.

The company added it continued to pursue the insurance claim for the well control incident that occurred in March 2017.
