United spuds ASH-4 at Abu Sennan

United Oil & Gas plc said it was awaiting consistent flows on the AJ-14 well as it spud the ASH-4 high impact development well targeting more than 2 mmbbls gross in the Abu Sennan licence, onshore Egypt.

Licence: Abu Sennan is located in the Western Desert, onshore Egypt some 200km west of Cairo (United Oil & Gas)

AJ-14

United holds a 22% working interest in the licence, which is operated by Kuwait Energy Egypt.

The company said that, while oil had been recovered to surface on testing at AJ-14, consistent flow rates had yet to be established due to damage near the bore-hole formation.

United added that the testing programme continued in the Abu Roash-C (ARC) interval at AJ-14.

Well stimulation is expected to deliver commercial production rates in line with pre-drill estimates of some 300 bopd gross

ASH-4

The ASH-4 development well, in the prolific Alam El Bueib (AEB) reservoir, is the fourth well in the 2022 Abu Sennan programme.

Drilling as a vertical hole is expected to take 55 days to complete and is fully funded from the company’s operational cashflow.

United added that on completion of drilling, ASH-4 was expected to be rapidly brought into production.

The company will complete the 2022 programme with drilling the ASF-1X exploration well.
