United Oil & Gas appoints Peter Dunne as CFO

United Oil & Gas plc has appointed Peter Dunne as chief financial officer (CFO), effective from today, 5 May 2022.

Mr Dunne will also be appointed a director and as company secretary at the end of the general meeting on 1 June 2022.

David Quirke will step down as director and company secretary on the same day and remain at United to facilitate an efficient transition.

Mr Dunne joins from West African oil and gas company Boru Energy Ltd, where he was CFO.

He has more than 20 years’ experience in senior finance leadership roles including more than 14 years in the upstream oil and gas sector.

Prior to Boru, Mr Dunne was group finance director at Origin Enterprises plc, before which he spent seven years with Petroceltic International plc, latterly as corporate finance director.

During his time at Petroceltic, the company merged with Melrose Resources plc to operate across North Africa, the Mediterranean Basin and Black Sea, with production in excess of 25,000 boepd.

Mr Dunne is a graduate of University College Dublin and the Smurfit Business School and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland having trained with KPMG in Dublin.
