UK Oil & Gas plc (UKOG) has begun construction of the drilling pad and access road for Pinarova-1 shallow oil exploration well on the joint venture Resan licence in Siirt province, Turkey.

Schedule: site construction will be followed by drilling to reach a total depth of 500 to 550m below surface (UK Oil & Gas)

PINAROVA-1

Pinarova-1 lies 6km north of the Basur-1 oil discovery.

The well is designed to test whether the active 41.7˚ API light oil seep is directly fed by and connected to a 9km2 underlying light oil accumulation lying 300 to 645 metres below surface.

Site construction, expected to last 14 to 21 days, will be followed by drilling to reach a total depth of 500 to 550m below surface.

UKOG holds a 50% non-operated interest in Pinarova-1 and the surrounding 305 km² Resan licence, which includes the undeveloped Basur-1 light oil discovery.
