Tungsten West Ltd has secured an exclusive deal to sell granite from its Hemerdon tungsten-tin mine near Plympton in Devon.
SIGNIFICANT
The multi-million pound venture between the company’s subsidiary West Aggregates Ltd and GRS Group, involves secondary aggregate to be transported nationwide by sea and rail.
GRS expects to distribute annually more than a million tonnes of Hemerdon aggregates.
Tungsten West chief executive Max Denning said that the company could offer a significant new mineral resource at scale to the UK market.
DESTINATIONS
Aggregate will be shipped from Plymouth to other ports around Britain, and taken by road to Marsh Mills (between Plymouth and Plympton) for distribution by rail.
GRS Group’s Cornish subsidiary Maen Karne and London-based business Walsh already transport secondary granite from the Cornish china clay industry into London by sea and rail.
