Corcel plc’s consortium partner has spud the Tobias 14 well on the onshore KNON-11 block in the Kwanza basin, onshore Angola.
PRODUCTION
TO-14 follows drilling of TO-13 which earlier this month encountered “potentially productive zones in multiple intervals” throughout the Binga reservoir.
A well testing programme for both wells will begin after operator Sonangol reaches total depth of TO-14, before flowing both wells and designing an early production system.
Corcel has a 20% working interest (18% net) in the brownfield development.
Chief executive Antoine Karam said: “We expect a broadly similar timeline to results as with TO-13, and we look forward to initial flow testing of this well once target depth has been reached.”
