Tertiary Minerals plc has progressed to exploration targeting at two of four earn-in copper projects in Zambia.
EXPLORATION TARGETING
The four licences, owned by local partner Mwashia Resources Ltd, comprise Konkola West, Lubuila, Mukai and Mushima North.
Tertiary said that consultants Remote Exploration Services (RES) of South Africa had completed initial prospectivity reviews of the licences based on historical data.
RES had previously defined priority targets and exploration targeting has started at Mukai and Mushima North.
Tertiary added it hoped to begin field exploration as soon as possible.
Both projects are under a data sharing and technical cooperation agreement with First Quantum Minerals Ltd, with data currently being transferred from FQM to the company.
KONKOLA WEST & LUBUILA
Mwashia has received approval for environmental project briefs, required for exploration, at Konkola West and Lubuila in which Tertiary has now earned up to a 90% interest.
Konkola West is held in exploration licence 27067-HQ-LEL covering 71.9km2 and is located 18km northwest of Chingola in the Central African copper belt.
Lubuila is in 27065-HQ-LEL covering 334.8km2 and lies 90km west of Luanshya also in the Central African copper belt.
MUKAI & MUSHIMA NORTH
Tertiary added that the approval process for the Mukai and Mushima North projects was at an advanced stage.
Mukai is in 27066-HQ-LEL covering 55.4km2 and lies 125km west of Solwezi in the north-western Province of Zambia.
Mushima North is in 27068-HQ-LEL covering 701.3km2 and lies 100km east of Manyinga.
The company holds similar earn-in rights on the two projects as Konkola West & Lubuila.
