Sunrise NED Roger Murphy steps down

Sunrise Resources plc non-executive director Roger Murphy has stepped down after nearly nine years in the post.

Mr Murphy had been a non-executive director of the company since May 2016, during which time he served as chairman of the remuneration committee.

“The QCA Code* recommends that non-executive directors do not serve more than nine
years and family and other business interests are also pushing me to free up time,” said Mr Murphy.

“I believe Sunrise retains significant options to unlock value from its various assets and I am confident that the board will continue to pursue these opportunities in my absence.”

Executive chairman Patrick Cheetham added: “We are sorry to lose Roger from the board.

“He will be sorely missed for the valuable advice he has given to the board and management over a long period, but we wish him all the very best going forward.”

Mr Murphy’s departure at the end of March followed the appointment of Adam Hainsworth as NED, who will become chairman of the remuneration committee.

Sunrise holds licences for pozzolan, perlite, base and precious metals, diatomite, limestone as well as royalty interests in Nevada, USA and a gold project in Western Australia.
