Star Energy Group plc chief executive officer Chris Hopkinson has stepped down from the role and the board with immediate effect, after 12 months in the post.
His replacement is Ross Glover who is expected to be appointed to the board following the company’s general meeting 12 June.
Mr Hopkinson, who will not stand for re-election, was initially appointed independent non-executive director under the company’s previous name of IGas in January 2022, before becoming interim chairman later that year.
“I have enjoyed my time at Star Energy and am proud of the changes over which I have been able to preside,” he said.
“We have raised production substantially since I took over in September 2022.
“The time has however come for me to pass on the reins to Ross in whom I have great confidence to carry on what I have started.”
Star Energy added it recognised the significant contribution Mr Hopkinson had made during his tenure at the company.
This included “charting a course through a period of internal group reorganisation and taking a number of important steps to position the company for the energy transition”.
Non-executive chairman Philip Jackson added: “During his time at Star Energy, Chris has made a significant contribution to the development of the company and I wish him all the best for the future.”
New CEO Ross Glover has been with the company since 2017 and became chief operating officer in September 2022.
He is currently a director at A14 Energy Ltd, GT Energy Croatia Ltd and GT Energy UK Ltd.
Mr Glover holds 168,922 ordinary shares in Star Energy Group plc.
