Block faces calls for forensic investigation

Block Energy plc said it had received a second letter from Forest Nominees Ltd to convene a further general meeting to consider an independent forensic investigation into the company’s affairs.

Block said it regretted that the action had been during the middle of drilling a well and considered the requisition of a second general meeting to be “unwelcome and unnecessary” and not in the best interests of the company.

Forest holds 31,308,000 ordinary shares, representing 5%, as nominee for G.P. (Jersey) Ltd.

Earlier in July, Forest called for a general meeting to consider proposals for changes in the Block’s board of directors.

Block today announced that this meeting would be held on 11 August 2021.
