Serica Energy plc has appointed Jérôme Schmitt to the board as a non-executive director with effect from 1 July 2022.

Mr Schmitt worked for what is now TotalEnergies from 1992 to 2021 where his roles included group treasurer (2009-2011) and senior vice-president environment and sustainable development (2013-2016).

More recently he was senior vice-president carbon neutral businesses – gas, renewable and power (2016-2019) and senior vice-president merger & acquisition (from 2019 to 2021).

Borders granted Falkland licences extension

Borders & Southern Petroleum plc today said it had received an extension to its Falkland Islands licences. The company had been in discussions with the Falkland Islands Government over an extension to PL018, PL019 and PL020 and Darwin Discovery Area licence. Borders & Southern added that the licences’ extension is until 31 December 2022.
