Serica Energy plc has appointed David Latin as a non-executive director on the company’s board.
He will join the HSE/ESG Committee and Reserves Committee.
In 2011, Mr Latin joined OMV as group senior vice president for exploration and production in North West Europe, Africa and Australasia.
He led offshore and onshore operations, set strategy, led investment decisions, managed performance, led country exits and entries and was involved in numerous acquisitions and divestments.
In 2017, Mr Latin co-founded First Alpha Energy which invested in upstream E&P and energy services, technology and equipment sectors.
During 2020, he founded First Alpha Services providing specialised executive advisory services to the energy, finance, technology and university sectors.
Mr Latin also co-founded Talaria Technology in 2021 which provides smart sensors to assist offshore wind energy and carbon storage companies to reduce cost, improve performance and expand faster.
Before OMV, he worked for BP where he held a number of VP and global/regional business roles in upstream and corporate operations, and was based in the UK, Asia, South America and North America.
He led programmes in many aspects of the business including exploration, appraisal, developments, operations, human resources, upstream technology and digital technology.
