Red Rock opts for lower cost sea freight

Red Rock Resources plc said a rise in air freight rates had led it to transport testing and production equipment by sea to its Bilbale and Boulon gold projects in Burkina Faso.

Containers have been loaded ahead of ships setting sail, although maritime rates have also increased.

Initial earth moving and trucking equipment, generators and other equipment from will come from Europe.

The company expects arrival times in early July, depending on regulatory delays.

Work at the two sites continues with preparation of accommodation, water wells, transportation and logistics, as well as the company dealing with the Government.

Red Rock had initially hoped to begin operations during June.
