Red Rock Resources plc could start trial mining in the coming months at its Tin Hill lithium project in southeast Zimbabwe.
SCHEDULE
The company’s environmental management plan (EMP) and site of works plan for Tin Hill was approved by the Environmental Management Agency in January 2023.
In February, Red Rock’s plans were delayed for two weeks while illegal miners on site were removed before work resumed.
TRIAL MINING
The company today said it had submitted its environmental impact assessment (EIA), adding that approval may be from mid-April onwards after which additional geologists and staff will mobilise to site.
Following two weeks of pre-mining preparatory work trial mining can begin.
The company has completed stakeholder and community engagement and it also continues work on progressing licences for other areas.
