Red Rock Resources plc reported low-key results from the second batch of samples from its recently completed 2022 reverse circulation (RC) exploration drilling at the Bilbale gold project, southwest Burkina Faso.
BILBALE
The company’s subsidiary, Faso Greenstone Resources Sarl (FGR) owns two prospective project areas of Bilbale and Boulon in the Boromo and Banfora greenstone belts.
Bilbale covers 183.62 km² and lies in the prolific Boromo greenstone belt.
RESULTS
The drilling programme focused on four holes totalling 420 metres at the first location, Djikologo, and three holes totalling 358 metres at the second location, Bilbale artisanal area.
Todays published results, from 380 samples at Bilbale in BilR22-05 drillhole, include:
– 11m at 0.26 g/t gold from 42 metres depth, including 2m at 0.5 g/t
– 4m at 0.77 g/t from 68 metres depth, including 1m at 2.68 g/t gold from 70 metres depth
Red Rock plans to conduct ground geophysics followed by further drill testing in a later programme.
EARLY STAGE
Chairman Andrew Bell added it had accelerated the small programme to meet spend commitments on the licence, without prior detailed geochemical and geophysical preparation.
“This second phase intersected gold mineralisation in two of the three holes at the Bilbale artisanal area, but at more modest tenors [than previous results].
“As we emphasise in early stage drilling, we are drilling at that point for structure and not grade, and any intersections over 1 g/t show we are in mineralisation and so are positive.”
