Red Rock Resources plc said it remained on course with its arbitration proceedings in the Democratic Republic of Congo, despite conflict and demonstrations.

Chairman Andrew Bell added: “Inevitably the invasion in the east of the country has been a distraction and caused delay, including days when offices were shut and flights cancelled.
“By maintaining constant high level pressure throughout the last month we have been able to continue the process.
“I myself have made three visits to Kinshasa in the last month and spend most of my time there, but we are also well served by our local partners who are working full-time on our behalf.”
Mr Bell added that the process was expected to conclude “imminently.”
