WESTERN LICENCE

The company holds a 75% direct interest in Mid Migori Mining Company Ltd which controls a 723 koz JORC gold resource within two exploration licences in the Migori greenstone belt.

The asset comprises the Mikei resource with 723Koz at JORC indicated and inferred status over five areas within the Mikei Shear zone, Migori regional exploration, and the Macalder tailings resource.

Red Rock today said it had so far completed 1,744m of reverse circulation drilling of an infill and extension drilling programme at the KKM Central prospect on Western licence PL/0202/2018.

A total of 17 holes were drilled at depths of up to 133m with the first batch of 950 samples sent for testing in Tanzania.

EASTERN LICENCE

The company added it had further tested three prospective targets of Francis-3, Lake Bush and Lake Bush BIF on Eastern licence PL/0203/2018.

A gradient array IP programme has started at the Homestead prospect, of which 32.6 line km has been completed, and 10.5 line km at JuaKali-Kehancha 5 prospect.

Red Rock also completed 53 line km magnetic survey at the Kurutiange prospect before sending the equipment for recalibration due to noise on two of the three receiver sets.

Applications are also being prepared for a mining and a mineral processing licence.

Environmental impact assessments have started on the next set of infill drill targets including a new target at Konguru within the Western licence, expected to complete by Christmas.

Chairman Andrew Bell added that previous diamond drilling at Konguru had been too widely spaced to calculate the resource.

“We are identifying and progressing a number of new or underexplored targets as well as working to expand the existing resource envelope and identify areas of higher grade within it or nearby.

“Our work this year has enabled us to identify some key priority drill targets in the Eastern licence.

“The progress made since we were able to come back to the project a year ago has been significant, and the professionalism of the team we are building in Kenya is one of our best assets.

“We have great confidence in the potential and prospects of the Mikei gold project, and will look for ways to accelerate its progress in 2022.”
