Red Rock notes solid progress from results at Mikei gold project

Red Rock Resources plc reported solid progress following results from its second batch of 1,365 samples from the mid KKM prospect of the Mikei gold project (MGP) in Kenya.

MRE: the greatest impact will come either from diamond drilling deeper or from the bringing to resource of new areas (Red Rock Resources)

PROGRAMME

The results are from Phase I reverse circulation (RC) drilling exploration at the company’s 100% beneficially owned project.

The programme comprised 20 drill holes for 2,093m with sampling and logging conducted at one metre intervals.

RESULTS

The results are of a second batch of 1,365 samples from the last 11 holes and include intercepts of:

KKRC095: 37m @ 0.73 g/t Au from 120m to 157m (including 5m @ 2.05 g/t Au from 135m, 1m @ 1.59g/t Au from 145m, 2m @ 2.18g/t Au from 150m)

KKRC087: 19m @ 0.54 g/t Au from 81m to 100m (including 3m @ 1.07 g/t Au from 90m, 1m @ 2.55g/t Au from 95m)

KKRC091: 12m @ 0.65 g/t Au from 79m to 91m (including 1m @ 1.2 g/t Au from 81m, 3m @ 1.24g/t Au from 83m)

KKRC103: 10m @ 1.5g/t Au from 61m to 71m (including 3m @ 1.02 g/t Au from 61m, 5m @ 2.23 g/t Au from 67m)

KKRC089: 8m @ 1.23g/t Au from 87m to 95 m (including 4m @ 1.81 g/t Au from 87m, 2m @ 1.07 g/t Au from 92m).

OBJECTIVE

“This is very solid progress and a good result,” said chairman Andrew Bell adding that it pointed to the next stage of leading up to a new MRE.

“The greatest impact is likely to come either from diamond drilling deeper but still within the pit shell and down dip, where we hypothesise the existence of higher grades, or from the bringing to resource of new areas where mineralisation has been encountered but few holes have been drilled.

“Some potential exists from infill drilling nearer surface at mid-KKM and its satellite deposits, but this is likely to be a lower priority.”
