Red Rock Resources plc could have a potential mining/partner contract for its Zimbabwe lithium assets as the company also starts talks with agents in China on lithium ore sales.
HIGHER PRICES
From 10 to 14 August, a South African consultant geologist conducted due diligence on the site with the company’s subsidiary African Lithium Resources (Pvt) Ltd (ALR).
ALR is currently working on environment impact assessments, establishing and testing representative samples, procuring crushing and beneficiation equipment and export licences, and creating sales channels.
“Regulatory changes over recent months mean that we are focused on sales to the export market, which realise higher prices but require some combination of selective mining and beneficiation,” said Red Rock chairman Andrew Bell.
COMPANY MOVES
Red Rock has also strengthened its local team by engaging geologist Dirk Benade as a representative and a director of ALR.
Mr Benade has 50 years’ experience in exploration, management, assaying and open pit and underground mining, largely in Zimbabwe.
His previous employers have included Utah Development Company (now BHP-Utah) Anglo American, Messina Transvaal Development and Falcon Mines.
Mr Benade was also managing director of African Gold and senior geologist of African Consolidated Resources from 2006 to 2008.
He has more recently been involved in private company ventures and consulting work.
