Red Rock Resources plc has received approval to start production and sales of lithium from its first asset in Zimbabwe.
ENVIRONMENT
The move follows receipt of an environmental certificate after the company submitted the environmental impact assessment for Tin Hill and held stakeholder meetings.
The property lies 29km northwest of Bikita which is one of two lithium mining centres along with Arcturus.
Red Rock said that work would be conducted in parallel to permit its other Zimbabwe licences for mining.
MILESTONE
Chairman Andrew Bell added that the company was in a position to start shipping product immediately.
“Zimbabwe is a top ten lithium producer, and the biggest producer in Africa, and is known for its high grade product.
“This is a significant milestone for Red Rock, and we are assessing the financial implications as we test material and delineate further the pegmatites within our licences.”
