The JV for PEDL183 comprises operator Rathlin Energy (UK) Ltd (66.67%), Reabold Resources plc (59% share in Rathlin and a 16.665% licence share) and Union Jack Oil plc (16.665%).

“Rathlin’s planning application for the West Newton A well site expansion was refused by a narrow margin by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council planning committee, despite it being recommended for approval by [the council’s] own planning officers,” said Reabold in a statement.

“Rathlin is awaiting the formal decision notice but based on their current understanding of the reasons for refusal are confident they have a strong basis for a successful appeal.”

The company added that testing at the A-2 well continued with initial results expected in the coming weeks.
