The public local inquiry on Daladian Gold Ltd’s plans for a £750 million gold-silver-copper mine in County Tyrone has been scheduled for September.

The Canadian company’s underground project, backed by American finance, lies in Curraghinalt townland 15km northeast of Omagh and near the Sperrins Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
In 2020, the then minister for infrastructure Nichola Mallon of the Social Democratic and Labour Party said that mine proposals were “complex” with more than 40,000 representations submitted.
Her successor since 2022 has been John O’Dowd of Sinn Féin.
The inquiry focuses on Dalradian’s minerals planning application LA10/2017/1249/F and Northern Ireland Electricty (NIE) networks and powerline planning applications LA10/2019/1386/F & LA11/2019/1000/F.
The Planning Appeals Commission will hold the pre-inquiry meeting on 20 March and the deadline for statements of case is 17 May.
Final rebuttals must be made by 14 June followed by the start of the inquiry hearing on 10 September.
The pre-inquiry meeting and inquiry hearing will be held in the Strule Arts Centre in Omagh.
