Predator seeks Guercif JV as operations progress

Predator Oil & Gas Holdings plc said it would continue looking for joint venture partners as it progresses with its gas operations in Morocco.

Resource: Guercif could satisfy Morocco’s entire current gas requirement for gas-fired power generation (Predator)

MOROCCO

The company has interests in Morocco, Trinidad and downstream Ireland.

In onshore Morocco, Predator is still discussing a joint venture to finance early development of Guercif gas for the compressed natural gas market.

The company said it had seen a 92% increase in gross prospective gas resources with a clear pathway to drilling.

Predator has a 75% interest in the Guercif Licence together with its partner the state oil company, ONHYM.

The company added that Guercif could satisfy Morocco’s entire current gas requirement for gas-fired power generation.

TRINIDAD

Predator is also currently injecting anthropogenic CO2 at AT-13 for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) in Inniss-Trinity field, onshore Trinidad within the Eastern Venezuelan Basin.

In November 2020, 380 metric tonnes of CO2 were injected and followed by a rise in oil production in a CO2 EOR monitoring well, sustained at an average rate 88% higher than the month before the start of injection.

The company said enhanced incremental oil production for the single CO2 EOR monitoring well was estimated to be around 2,200 barrels of oil since the start of CO2 injection.

* In its downstream Ireland operations, Predator is targeting first gas deliveries from its proposed floating Liquefied Natural Gas import terminal in 2024.
