Power Metal to confirm Tati gold-bearing system

Power Metal Resources plc said its 2023 exploration programme aimed to confirm a large gold-bearing system on its 100% owned and operated Tati gold project near Francistown in Botswana.

Exploration: the company’s largest and most comprehensive exploration campaign across the Tati project (Power Metal Resources)

PROGRAMME

The company has started exploration activities which will also include the delineation of a deposit in the 8km long gold-in-soil anomaly.

Work involves 500-metre mechanised trenching, geophysics surveys, 3km high-resolution geochemical surveys, 15 reverse circulation (RC) drill holes for a total 1,500m and five diamond core drilling for a total 500m.

Power Metal added that both geophysical survey works focused on the northwestern strike length extension of the Cherished Hope mine as well as mechanised trenching had started.

Additionally, a further 500-600 individual soil samples are scheduled, followed by drilling to test emerging high priority gold targets.

CAMPAIGN

The company said that the programme was to date its largest and most comprehensive exploration campaign across the Tati project.

“Our exploration programmes in 2021 and 2022 have built a robust picture of the project’s potential and we are particularly excited as we proceed with the next stage of exploration,” added chief executive Paul Johnson.

The company last year confirmed near surface high-grade gold from reverse circulation drilling, which intersected the quartz reef structure near the Cherished Hope mine, delivering high-grade and bonanza-grade gold results.
