Power Metal Resources plc today announced it had established a camp and started field work at its Alamo gold project in Arizona, USA.
NUGGETS
The company, which has the right to earn-in up to 75% interest in the project, is focusing on six areas where geological mapping has identified conglomerate units prospective for hosting coarse gold.
A field examination began on 7 December of basal contacts in the six areas to identify geological environments favourable for coarse gold and gold nuggets.
Power Metal will delineate areas for mini bulk sampling programme subject to permits.
The programme will help determine the potential of gold grade and distribution for economic exploitation.
Field work will also identify the provenance of the coarse gold to establish its primary source.
ALAMO
The Alamo gold project is a package of mining claims covering 946 acres in west-central Arizona.
Further exploration could find the source of the nugget gold and the potential for a large mineralised gold system, said Power Metal.
The region in which the project lies is also prospective for precious and base metals, with mines having produced silver, lead, gold, zinc and copper.
