Power Metal Resources plc has begun the first exploration on the 57.89km2 North Wind lithium project in northeast Ontario, Canada.

Centred on a granitic intrusion cut by mapped dykes, North Wind is considered prospective for pegmatite-hosted lithium mineralisation.
Lake sedmiment sample results showed “highly anomalous” concentrations of lithium, caesium and tantalum suggesting a “nearby mineralised source”.
Crews from the company’s subsidiary Ion Battery Resources Ltd have mobilised to North Wind for the exploration programme which will include geochemical sampling, prospecting and rock sampling over zones of interest.
Results will form a geochemical dataset on the possible location of covered lithium-caesium-tantalum-bearing pegmatites within the claim boundary.
Power Metal said that the project was accessible via land and sea, allowing quick and cost-effective completion of exploration.
