Power Metal Resources plc reported visible sulphide mineralisation in its first drill hole at the nickel-copper-platinum group element project at Molopo Farms Complex, southwest Botswana.
DDH1-6B
Drill hole DDH1-6B, within priority target area T1-6, marks the start of a 2,600m drill campaign.
The company reached 576m and, after identifying visible sulphide mineralisation, will extend the planned target depth of 600m to at least 650m.
PYROXENITES
Power Metal said that preliminary inspection of DDH1-6B showed pyroxenites, which were the host rock for nickel sulphide mineralisation found within drill hole KKME1-6 in 2021.
The extension of DDH1-6B is designed to intersect additional pyroxenite layering.
Once DDH1-6B drilling is completed, a down hole EM survey will gather further geophysical data.
DDH1-6B(2)
The company will also drill a new shallow hole of 250m into target area T1-6, DDH1-6B(2), from a drill location near the original hole KKME1-6.
This hole will test for the potential up dip extension (shallower) of the nickel mineralised pyroxenites identified in drill hole KKME1-6, and should help demonstrate the full extent of the mineralised system at the priority target area.
PROJECT OWNERSHIP
Power Metal has a current circa 53% effective economic interest in Molopo, held through a direct project interest and a shareholding in partner Kalahari Key Mineral Exploration (Pty) Ltd (KKME).
In May 2022, the company signed a conditional transaction to increase its interest in Molopo to 87.71% and become the operator.
