Power Metal Resources plc has intersected bonanza and high grade gold from its drilling programme at the Tati project within the Tati greenstone belt near Francistown, Botswana.
TATI
In April, the owner-operator extended its licence area to cover the formerly producing Cherished Hope gold mine and a large gold-in-soil anomaly.
During the August, drilling began on nine reverse circulation (RC) holes for 490m, representing “the first ever known drilling programme” on prospecting licence 049/2022.
INITIAL RESULTS
Assay results for the first three holes showed intersections of “significant near-surface, dolerite and quartz reef hosted gold mineralisation.
Down-hole intersections >1g/t Au in drill hole CHRC0001 include 1m @ 2.15 g/t Au from 21m and 1m @ 10.20g/t Au from 33m.
Results from CHRC0003 included 3m @ 16.77 g/t Au from 5m including 1m @ 47.17 g/t Au from 6m.
Drill hole CHRC0002, targeting one of the thicker portions of the quartz reef structure, showed 1m @ 5.57 g/t Au from 15m but intersected a “mined-out void” from 10-15m due to a shallow dip chosen for the hole.
Power Metal is considering steepening the dip and redrilling the section to test the entire section of the quartz reef.
Chief executive officer Paul Johnson said that results were pending for the remaining six holes, several of which intersected “significant quartz reef intersections of up to 8m thick”.
