The owner-operator previously identified two gold-in-soil geochemical anomalies and continuity within the 8km gold trend at the site.

Six unique additional target areas have now been identified for detailed soil sampling which is expected to include 450 individual soil samples.

Power Metal said that one of the six targets included a “key focus area” where geochemical sampling highlighted a 400m long southward trending extension, open to the south and southwest, of the soil anomaly associated with the Cherished Hope historical mine workings.

Further sampling at this target area will focus on in-fill and step-out sampling.

“After the successful confirmation of two significant gold anomalies, we wanted to expedite this ground follow up, and that is what we have done,” added chief executive officer Sean Wade.

“Whilst it is always important to manage expectations, we are very optimistic that this follow up programme will further our geological understanding of the project and lead us towards what we hope will be a significant economic discovery.”
