Power Metal Resources plc has completed initial field exploration on the Balthaga lithium project 450km east of Jeddah in the southeast of the Arabian Shield.

A total of 43 in-situ rock chip samples were taken from targets visited while new areas were identified during the seven-day programme over more than 1,200 km2.
The programme is included in the March agreement with RIWAQ Al-Mawarid for Mining (RIWAQ) to earn a 30% ownership interest in 15 tenements, of which 13 contiguous licences form Balthaga.
The remaining two licences are in other locations and focus on different commodities.
Power Metal said it was concentrating on lithium and any associated minerals including rare earth elements.
Chief executive Sean Wade added that extreme conditions had prevented a longer field programme.
“We are really pleased with the outcome of this initial field programme and to get the team on the ground giving them a much better understanding of the geology.
“I’m glad to report that the majority of the identified targets proved fruitful with some new targets also discovered.
“We look forward to returning to the field after the summer heat to follow up on this work and explore new targets.”
