Oriole Resources plc has restarted field work following the rainy season at its Bibemi orogenic gold and Central Licence Package (CLP) gold projects in Cameroon.
BIBEMI
The company is currently conducting a pit optimisation study and site visit at Bibemi in the north of the country.
The work aims to upgrade a portion of the existing JORC exploration target to an inaugural mineral resource estimate (MRE) expected to be in the JORC inferred category.
Oriole anticipates publishing the MRE before the end of 2022.
Chief executive Tim Livesey added it would be the first internationally accredited MRE for orogenic gold targets in Cameroon.
Further work includes an infill geophysics programme planned for H1 2023 to aid drill targeting at the remaining three prospects on Bibemi as well as future activities to expand resource.
EASTERN CLP LICENCES
At the CLP in central Cameroon, mapping and rock-chip sampling is under way at Mbe, one of five licences within the Eastern CLP block.
A further 495 of a total 835 soil samples at Mbe collected during the 2021-22 field season, that could potentially extend mineralisation, will be submitted for analysis with results anticipated in Q1 2023.
Oriole plans ground-based geophysics at Mbe during Q1 2023 to help identify the structural control on the mineralisation.
At the Ndom licence, also in the Eastern CLP, the team is currently completing a ground-truthing exercise to assess the potential for lithium-bearing pegmatites.
The company has also begun initial studies at the recently secured Gamboukou gold-lithium licence, immediately to the south of Ndom.
The total area under licence at the CLP now stands at 4,091km2.
WESTERN CLP LICENCES
Oriole added it was in discussion with the Mining Ministry of Cameroon to suspend temporarily the three Western CLP licences pending a resolution to continuing land access issues.
