Oriole completes Mbe geophysics

Oriole Resources plc has completed a ground-based geophysics programme over the main gold target at Mbe as it awaits multi-element analysis from lithium targeting on Ndom, within the Eastern Central Licence Package (CLP) in Cameroon.

DRILL TARGETS

The programme was over the entire gold-anomalous zone at the Mbe licence to test the local and regional scale structures at depth and to help develop the geological model.

Oriole’s own field teams conducted the survey at a line-spacing of 100m resulting in high-quality data to be interpreted to help identify drill targets, said the company.

MAPPING AND SAMPLING

The company also continues mapping and sampling on Ndom, where Oriole is exploring for gold and lithium.

Oriole has sent 105 rock chip samples (including QAQC*) for multi-element analysis with results expected during Q2 2023.

Completion of the survey follows recent news of further high grade gold from rock chip sampling on Mbe.

INTERPRETATIONS

Chief executive Tim Livesey said that collection of the geophysical data had been a fast and economical process.

“We are very pleased to see the early interpretations giving us fine details of structural and lithological variations over the critical areas of anomalous gold in soils and rock chips.

“This data compliments our geological mapping and sampling programmes in helping us define and refine drill targets for follow up testing.

“As drilling is the most expensive component of the early exploration process, accurate targeting to test the mineralisation hypothesis is key to a successful exploration campaign.”
