Oriole Resources plc has appointed Eileen Carr to the board as non-executive chairman effective from 17 February 2022.
She will replace John McGloin who is leaving to become chief executive officer of Diamond Fields Resources Inc.
Ms Carr is a chartered certified accountant with more 30 years’ of experience in worldwide, large-scale mining operations.
She was appointed finance director of Cluff Resources Ltd in 1993 and has since held several executive directorships including chief finance officer for Monterrico Metals plc.
Ms Carr’s first non-executive role was for Banro Corporation in 1998 and, more recently, she was a non-executive director (NED) for Bacanora Lithium plc.
She has been a NED to Sylvania Platinum Ltd since May 2015.
Ms Carr holds no interests in the share capital of Oriole.

She was also NED and chairman of the Audit Committee of Talvivaara Mining Company Plc from June 2007 to June 2014.
Talvivaara applied for corporate reorganisation proceedings on 15 November 2013 .
The District Court of Espoo decided to start a corporate reorganisation process in respect of Talvivaara on 29 November 2013 .
On 2 June 2017, Talvivaara announced that the District Court of Espoo had confirmed its restructuring programme.
On 6 March 2018, Talvivaara filed for bankruptcy.
