The project lies 20km to the north of the company’s Bibemi gold exploration area.

Although initially focused on gold, sampling results in September 2023 showed high grade carbonate material which could be used in the country’s cement industry.

The company has also noted the potential for a limestone product to be used in Cameroon’s gold mining industry, to reduce cyanide use in leaching operations neutralise acid water.

Oriole obtained a change of commodity from gold to limestone at Wapouzé which it intends to transfer to its own investment vehicle.

The company aims to secure an industrial minerals partner to develop Wapouzé to commercialisation, from which it could receive royalty-based payments.
