IOG appoints Rupert Newall as CEO

IOG plc has appointed Rupert Newall as its new chief executive officer (CEO).

BOARD CHANGES

He replaces Andrew Hockey who has retired but will remain with the company in an advisory role to the board.

Mr Newall led IOG’s restructuring and farm-out to CalEnergy Resources (UK) Ltd (CER) in 2019 before joining IOG as chief financial officer.

He has also played an instrumental role in the company’s progress to becoming a UK gas producer.

The appointment is part of a series of executive changes that include the new chief operating officer and CFO.

Chair Fiona MacAulay added that it was an appropriate time to give the executive team fresh impetus as the company progressed through the initial production phase.

“Given their respective track records, I firmly believe that we have an exceptionally strong management team with the right skills and experience to overcome operational hurdles and grow IOG into a leading UK gas production business.”
