Independent Oil and Gas plc has appointed David Gibson as its chief operating officer (COO) effective from yesterday (8 February).
Mr Gibson has extensive North Sea engineering and project management experience over nearly 30 years in the energy industry.
This includes Foster Wheeler Wood Group, Amec, Marathon Oil UK Ltd, TAQA Bratani, and most recently Ithaca Energy where he led the integration of the North Sea assets acquired for $2 billion from Chevron.
Mr Gibson spent a decade at the Royal Air Force and is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.
His appointment as COO is not initially intended to be a board position.
