Hurricane faces call to remove several directors

Hurricane Energy plc said that one of its shareholders had called for the removal of five board directors.

The company has received a requisition notice from Crystal Amber Fund Ltd for a general meeting to vote on removing five directors.

These include chairman Steven McTiernan, senior independent director Dr David Jenkins, and independent non-executive directors John van der Welle, Sandy Shaw and Beverley Smith.

Crystal Amber also calls for John Wright and David Craik to be appointed as additional directors of the company with immediate effect.

Hurricane, which is currently reviewing financial restructuring, will consider the requisition notice before responding.

Founded in 2008 and registered in Guernsey, Crystal Amber is an AIM-listed activist fund investing predominantly in small and mid-cap UK equities.
