Hummingbird Resources plc has started the hot commissioning phase before planned first gold pour at the Kouroussa gold mine in Guinea.
PROCESSING PLANT
The company said that Phase I of testing the processing plant’s mechanical, electrical and overall functionality had performed “per design”.
First ore was introduced to the circuit at the one million tonne per annum plant at Kouroussa on 20 May 2023.
First gold pour is still on course for Q2 2023.
COMMERICIAL PRODUCTION
Chief executive Dan Betts described the start of hot commissioning as another milestone for the company.
“While commissioning of the plant continues and nears its final stages, our operations team is preparing Kouroussa to become fully operational with the intention to reach commercial and name plate production in the second half of 2023.”
