Hummingbird to increase Dugbe gold resource

Hummingbird Resources plc said that initial results from a 5,500-metre drill programme show the potential to increase mineral resource at the Dugbe F gold deposit in Liberia.

The company’s Canadian partner, Pasofino Gold Ltd, is conducting the programme and covering all associated costs, as part of its earn-in agreement for a 49% stake in the project.

Hummingbird maintains a controlling interest of 51%.

Pasofino has also started a preliminary economic assessment (PEA) which will be released before the release of the definitive feasibility study.

Today’s published results from Dugbe F show that intersections of the flat to gently undulating layer include:

DFDC338: 26.7 metres at 1.44 g/t gold from 86.9 metres

DFDC335: 10.0 metres at 1.48 g/t gold from 67.9 metres

DFDC335: 14.6 metres at 1.30 g/t gold from 102.0 metres

DFDC334: 4.1 metres at 2.17 g/t gold from 16.9 metres

Hummingbird said that all seven of the new drill holes (below) intersected gold mineralisation of the expected range of thickness and grade. Results below 113.6 m depth in DFDC338 are pending.

Additional shallow mineralised intervals are present above the main zone within the southern part of the deposit and have the potential to add to the resource base

The current infill drilling aims to upgrade the inferred mineral resource estimate (MRE) to achieve an indicated MRE of between 0.6 and 1.0 million ounces.

Hummingbird chief executive Dan Betts said that the drill programme was the first at the deposit since 2014.

Hummingbird Resources is a member of the World Gold Council and has two other main interests: Yanfolila gold mine in Mali and Kouroussa gold project in Guinea.
