Helium One Global Ltd is progressing towards operational phase with new studies, an expanded technical team and a review of production options at Rukwa in Tanzania.

Conversion of its licences from prospecting to mining requires an environmental and social impact assessment, which forms part of the feasibility study.
An expanded technical team is expected to take six months to compete the work, which has started now in order to align the results with the Itumbula West-1 extended well test (EWT) in early Q3 2024.
On conclusion of both, Helium One will complete the feasibility study before submitting its application to convert the licence.
In addition to the ESIA, the company plans more detailed subsurface work and establishment of contingent resource estimates to include in the feasibility study.
PRODUCTION
Above-ground engineering studies are underway and a contractor chosen for the preliminary design for a production system suitable for the flow rates and gas composition within the Rukwa Basin.
Helium One added it was considering several processing facility options.
“These will include a smaller, lower rate pilot plant that would allow for early production as well as larger, modular systems that can be scaled-up.
“The design work will include helium liquefaction, storage and transportation with the aim of providing a well head to off-taker processing system.
“This would enable the company to streamline all downstream and mid-stream activities.”
Also under review is whether to re-enter and deepen the Tai-3 well or focus on a new exploration/appraisal well, depending on equipment delivery times and availability of third-party companies.
