Helium One completes civils work to spud Tai-C

Helium One Global Ltd is on schedule to start Phase II drilling of the Tai-C well on the Rukwa project following completion of civils work and 2.4km long access road.

Sub-contractor TNR Ltd has prepared and constructed a 130m x 180m well pad and a concrete cellar to house the wellhead.

The well pad, which includes an area for the camp accommodation, has received regulatory approval for the cementing component.

The company will next move the Predator 220 rig and equipment as well as choose the remaining drill crew and await third-party services equipment and remaining long lead items.

“Helium One is now another step closer to commencing our drilling programme at Tai-C,” said chief executive officer Lorna Blaisse.

“We are very impressed with the high standard of work that TNR have carried out and we look forward to moving ahead into the next stage of the project.”

The Rukwa project lies in southwestern Tanzania within the Rukwa Rift basin which occupies the western branch of the East Africa Rift System.
