Helium One encounters ‘higher’ shows in ITW-1

Helium One Global plc said it had encountered higher shows than previously after it re-entered and deepened the Itumbula-1 West well at Rukwa in Tanzania.

Drill: further evaluate the results through an extended well test (Helium One)

DEPTH

The company said that existing hole conditions were “very good”, enabling re-entry beneath the 9⅝” shoe.

Drilling into the Basement has now reached a new total depth of 1,129m measured depth.

Operations have encountered “near-continuous helium and hydrogen shows” during deepening of the well.

Frequency of shows continued to TD and were “notably higher” than those encountered while drilling the overburden section during phase II, added Helium One.

Chief executive Lorna Blaisse said that the company would further evaluate the results through an extended well test.
