Helium One Global non-executive chairman Ian Stalker will resign from his position to reduce the number of his non-executive roles.
He will be replaced by current non-executive director James Smith, with immediate effect.
During his tenure Mr Stalker oversaw Helium One list on AIM and the inaugural drilling programme at the Rukwa licence in Tanzania.
He also guided the company towards the second drilling campaign in September on the project.
“Whilst there is never a good time to step down as chairman, I do so in the knowledge that the company in in excellent health,” said Mr Stalker.
“To say that this is an exciting time for the company is an understatement, we have an exceptional team in place to successfully deliver our forthcoming programme at Rukwa and proving up the potential that we believe is inherent at Tai-C.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to say what a pleasure it has been to work with the Helium One team over the past few years, and I wish Lorna [Blaisse – CEO] and the team the very best on making a commercial discovery and look forward to following their progress in the coming months.”
JAMES SMITH
New chairman Mr Smith is an experienced director with more than 35 years experience in the natural resources sector.
He has held a number of senior positions at Chevron Corporation, PanOcean Energy and also VP Exploration at Tanzanian focussed Orca Exploration.
Mr Smith has been a member of the board of Helium One since listing in December 2020.
