Drilling is expected to begin this quarter subject to receipt of a Form 2 permit.

The company added that its application for a mining licence was still under review for its flagship project in southern Rukwa, Tanzania.

Three further licences for projects with “limited prospectivity” and too difficult to access have reached the end of their second and final renewal term and will automatically lapse.

The company’s remaining licences in the Rukwa Basin total 1,086km2 and a further 286km2 in the Eyasi Basin, northern Tanzania.
