Hartshead Resources NL has increased its licences with the award of 10 blocks in the 33rd licensing round.
PORTFOLIO
The blocks contain discovered hydrocarbons with a range of re-development, development and appraisal opportunities, as well as multiple near field exploration openings.
The North Sea Transition Authority offered field redevelopments in 50% partnership with Dutch developer Meridian Resources for blocks 44/19b, 44/21d, 44/22, 44/23b and 44/27.
The Australian company also has 100% field appraisal for 48/10 and redevelopment of 48/14d and 48/15b.
And in partnership with Comtrack (UK) Ltd, the company was awarded 80% field appraisal of 48/18c and 50% of 113/27c.
Nine blocks are in the southern gas basin and three adjacent to Hartshead’s existing 40-60% joint venture with Viaro subsidiary RockRose in the P2067 Seaward licence containing the Anning-Somerville fields.
The company, which in April cut its workforce, is awaiting formal notification from the NSTA for each licence.
“I am delighted with such an excellent result in the 33rd round,” said chief executive Chris Lewis.
“To have won so many blocks, with known discovered gas resources and a host of
gas fields for re-development, development and appraisal vastly expands our portfolio and dramatically increases the number of opportunities we have to progress to gas production.
“This takes Hartshead from being a single licence company to having multiple licences and
projects within the UK.”
