Guardian Metal Resources plc has appointed R Michael Jones as strategic advisor and Jeff Snyder as operations manager, with immediate effect.
Mr Jones, currently chief executive officer of Next Step Power Corporation, was most recently CEO and president of Los Andes Copper Ltd.
In the early 2000s, he co-founded and was CEO at Platinum Group Metals Ltd which discovered 19 million ounces of platinum group metals.
From 1997 to 2000, Mr Jones was vice president corporate development for Aber Diamonds, joint-venture partner in the $1.3B Diavik diamond mine.
He also co-founded West Timmins Mining as well as MAG Silver.
Mr Jones holds the Des Pretorius medal for his contributions to the economic geology of the country of South Africa.
For six years, he was also an advisor to the Minister of Finance of British Columbia, Canada.
Mr Jones has Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Geological Engineering from the University of Toronto.
Mr Snyder, based in Winnemucca, Nevada, has more than 40 years’ experience in the mining industry covering production, management, leadership and project development.
He has held roles with many major mining organisations, including most recently with Centerra Mining, as well as McEwen Mining & Newmont Mining Corporation.
My Snyder has spent most of his career in the western United States with a particular focus on Nevada, and has throughout worked for Homestake Mining, Allied Nevada, and Ma’aden.
He holds a BSc in Metallurgical Engineering from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology.
