Guardian Metal Resources plc said visual findings had greatly exceeded expectations from phase I diamond drilling at Pilot Mountain tungsten project in Nevada, USA.

The programme, started in May, was for an initial 2,000 metres but now in its eighteenth hole, has reached 2,396.2m.
The rig will remain on site and continue drilling at the company’s discretion.
Operations are focused on resource expansion at the main Desert Scheelite zone, hosting the “largest known tungsten resource on American soil”.
Preliminary visual mineralisation and alteration observed at Desert Scheelite Parallel West is of a previously undiscovered “altered skarn/marble zone”, successfully intersected.
The company said that a follow-up drillhole, testing the zone farther along strike and down dip, also successfully intercepted the newly identified zone.
Both holes are the first drilled into Desert Scheelite Parallel West.
Guardian added that 13 drillholes completed within Desert Scheelite successfully intersected the mineralised skarn zones where expected. Results will support the pre-feasibility study,
This was within the existing block model, as well as locally within the hanging wall and footwall, supporting further resource expansion potential.
The company is finalising an amendment to its permit notice for further drillholes into Desert Scheelite Parallel West as well as Porphyry South and Porphyry West targets.
Chief executive Oliver Friesen said that Pilot’s potential was much greater than when the project was first acquired.
“It is important to also note that to date, only two of the company’s multiple exploration targets identified have been drill tested, both confirming new mineralised and altered zones.
“The company’s technical team has worked with all available data to determine the next optimal areas of these zones to test.
“Permit amendments are now being finalised and will be filed shortly.
“The company is currently in an intensive work period in respect of the project and this is expected to continue for several months as multiple technical and corporate workstreams continue in parallel and at pace.”
