GreenRoc extends graphite exploration area at Amitsoq

GreenRoc Mining plc has extended its exploration area with exclusive mineral exploration licence MEL2022-03 at its Amitsoq graphite project in Greenland.

LICENCE

The company said that the granted 68km2 licence area encompassed a potential southerly extension to the Kalaaq deposit and several known graphite showings separate from the Amitsoq Island and Kalaaq deposits.

The southern portion of the new licence area includes several known graphite showings and one old graphite working, Sissarissoq.

It also lies near Nanortalik, Greenland’s southernmost town.

EVIDENCE

Chief executive Stefan Bernstein said that the areas of land had not been subject to modern exploration techniques with only a few sporadically sampled in the past.

“With this additional ground now included in GreenRoc’s new exploration licence, the team and I are excited about the future potential for identifying an additional mineralised graphite zone outside the primary target zones to the south of the Kalaaq deposit.

“In my view, this provides further evidence that the Amitsoq project has the potential to be one of the most strategically valuable graphite assets globally.”
