Golden Metal Resources plc has identified three “significant” exploration targets which could increase the resource potential for its flagship Pilot Mountain tungsten project in Nevada, USA.
ZONES
Results from a high-resolution induced polarisation geophysics survey showed undrilled targets of Desert Scheelite parallel west zone; Porphyry depths zone; and Desert Scheelite east extension zone all within the Walker Lane mineral belt.
The company said that all three were “highly prospective” for further tungsten-copper-silver-zinc mineralisation.
PILOT MOUNTAIN
Pilot Mountain covers 3,656 acres over four existing mineral deposits of Garnet, Good Hope, Gunmetal and Desert Scheelite, which all have skarn-style tungsten-copper-silver-zinc mineralisation.
Golden Metal added that the Desert Scheelite and Garnet deposits host a combined mineral resource estimate (MRE) of 12.53Mt at 0.27% tungsten trioxide with significant copper-silver-zinc credits.
Good Hope and Desert Scheelite lie approximately 1,400m apart and the area in between the zones is blanketed by a thin layer of post-mineral sedimentary and basaltic cover which historically prevented effective exploration.
The company believes that Pilot Mountain hosts the largest known undeveloped tungsten resource in the USA.
Power Metal Resources plc owns 62% of Golden Metal.
